Windows 10 vs Windows 11 for use inside K-12.
When it comes to choosing between Windows 10 and Windows 11 for K-12 schools, there are a few things to consider.
Firstly, both Windows 10 and 11 are suitable for K-12 education, and both offer similar features and functionality. Windows 11 does have a new design and some additional features, such as better touch controls and Android app support, but these are not necessarily critical for K-12 education.
One important consideration for K-12 education is the system requirements. While Windows 10 can run on a wide range of devices, including older or lower-spec machines, Windows 11 has higher system requirements, which means that some older devices may not be able to run it. This could be a consideration for schools that have older hardware and do not want to upgrade.

Our Story
Tech to School was founded as Mac Service Solutions in April of 2003 in Cupertino, CA by Justin Sanderson and Robert Baker. Justin and Robert both worked at an Apple reseller, named Computerware, that was located across the street from Apple's main headquarters. As Apple's resurgence was taking place around the time of OS X and the iPod, they saw an opportunity to improve the repair and service experience for the Apple community. Working out of Justin's garage, the pair started providing Mac hardware repairs and onsite Apple consulting.
The first location for MacService was located down the street from Apple in a small 600 sq ft retail space. Initially used as a walk-in repair center for local Apple users, MacService pioneered a mail-in repair service where Apple customers from around the country could get overnight repair service for their Mac laptops.

As the Apple mail-in repair business grew, MacService moved their HQ to a bigger space in nearby Santa Clara. MacService began working with more K-12 schools across the U.S. to help diagnose and service their Apple devices.

In 2012, MacService began offering their own refurbished Apple devices directly to K-12 schools. MacService was rebranded as Mac to School and began to focus solely on providing refurbished Apple devices and Apple repair services to K-12 schools.

In 2015, Mac to School moved to a larger facility in San Jose and started processing Apple trade-ins from K-12 schools. In addition to Apple products, Mac to School began selling Chromebooks and PC to schools and was rebranded as Tech to School in 2018.

]]>Answer: AUE stands for Auto Update Expiration. This is the date that Google guarantees that a certain Chrome device will be able to receive ChromeOS software updates up until. AUE dates typically end in June of a certain year. For example, a Chromebook with an AUE date of June 2030 will be guaranteed to receive security and other ChromeOS updates until at least June of 2030.
Answer: Google determines the ChomeOS AUE date of Chrome devices. The AUE date is typically determined by the processor of the Chromebook. For example, the same model of Lenovo Chromebooks could have 3 different AUE dates based on different processor options for that model.
Answer: When a Chromebook's AUE date is expired, Google no longer guarantees that security and other updates will be made available. As new versions of the ChromeOS are released, Chromebooks with expired AUE dates may not be able to take advantage of new features or plug security holes that are discovered. The trade-in value of a Chromebook with an expired AUE date drops significantly, usually close to zero. Chromebooks with expired AUE dates will still continue to work, get online etc. but should be considered for replacement.
Answer: Yes, the Google ChromeOS AUE of a Chromebook can be, and has been, extended. This determination is made by Google. As Google releases new versions of ChromeOS, they may determine that certain processors or specs can run later versions and they may extend the AUE date. The AUE date provided by Google initially is the guaranteed minimum AUE date.
