Google AUE Dates for Chromebooks
Google’s Auto Update Expiration (AUE) date helps schools plan Chromebook purchases and replacement cycles. Support is based on the device platform’s release date, not the day your school buys it. Match the full model and platform to Google’s Auto Update policy before ordering.
How to check a Chromebook’s AUE date
On the Chromebook, open Settings, then About ChromeOS, Additional details and Update schedule. For managed devices, your administrator can also review update-support information in the Google Admin console. See Google’s update-schedule instructions.
Extended updates need a separate check. Some older models require an administrator to opt in. On those devices, opting in removes the Play Store and Android apps and erases Android-related data. Review Google’s extended-update requirements before changing policy.
